As cars become more electrified and connected, the future of head-up displays (HUDs) is changing rapidly. Augmented reality AR-HUD has become a core element of smart cockpit design, helping to enhance the overall driving experience with driver assistance and safety features. Since displays used in HUD systems typically generate a certain amount of heat, effective cooling materials are needed to keep them running properly and prevent overheating.

The heat source of AR-HUD at work is also two aspects: the first is because AR HUD needs to have high brightness, and the heat of the light source is large; The second is the difficulty - the problem of sunlight backpouring, due to the reversibility of the light path, the light in nature will concentrate along the projected light path to the PGU. Excessive heat can cause serious damage to PGU's photoelectric components, so heat dissipation is an important problem.

In order to solve the problem of heat dissipation, the rear shell is generally made of metal material and a large area of heat dissipation hole is designed, and then the thermal conductive interface material is used between the heating element and the back shell to reduce the contact thermal resistance between the heating element and the radiator and improve the heat dissipation effect. Available materials include: thermal gel (Tputty508/607), thermal silicone sheet (B200, UT20000), two-component thermal gel (CR350) can achieve lower thermal resistance, so that the device can work at lower mechanical and thermal stress states.
